How Not to Go Broke; Use a Wedding Budget

No one will argue that a wedding is an exciting event and everyone wants theirs to be absolutely flawless. Preparing a wedding is something that every bride and groom to be looks forward to. However, the ecstasy that most brides and grooms first feel, does not last long to the amount of work and details that a wedding actually takes. Time, effort, and probably the biggest factor money is all required when wedding planning. A good amount of couples set a wedding budget for themselves so they don’t start their marriage in the red. It is important to stick to this budget as much as humanly possible. There are numerous amounts of temptations when finding everything for the wedding, so it is hard to keep to the budget you set. But, you want to keep to your financial plan, so maybe the money can be spent on a nice honeymoon.
Starting from the beginning, you need to make a list of things that you can’t go without at your wedding. At the top should of course be the groom’s suit and the bride’s wedding dress. You should definitely do some research and set a reasonable amount for this expenditure of the wedding budget. By searching through bridal magazines, and online you can decide is it more practical to get a gown made or just go buy one already made. The groom can also use this to decide what would be less expensive. If you want a dress that is custom made for you, be careful of the details you want put on it. The more beading and stoning done on the dress the more expensive it will end up being. A simple wedding dress can look just as great as long as the bride can carry it well.
Decorations are also something that needs to be considered when making your list for your wedding budget. Flowers are vital for the wedding ceremony as they add color and variety. You are going to have to carry a bouquet as well as the bridesmaids. You can try to cut down on the amount of flowers needed, by finding an alternative for the reception tables. Also, try to use flowers that will be in season the day of your wedding. Imported flowers will be costly to your wedding budget and the money could be better used elsewhere. Also, just stay with simple flower arrangements, they will look just as nice but will not cost you half as much as intricate arrangements.
The location of your wedding, the service itself, and your reception should all be considered in the wedding budget. Also, do not go and buy expensive food if it is not reasonable. Your guests probably won’t know the difference if they are hungry.
